Activated charcoal, also called activated carbon, is a fine black powder that’s produced when common charcoal is exposed to high heat. This exposure creates tiny internal spaces or holes in the charcoal, making it highly absorbent and able to trap chemicals and toxins.

It helps with a hangover – a simple teaspoon serving of charcoal powder dissolved in 1 cup of water can help reverse the damage done the night before and minimize the physical and mental upsets of the dreaded hangover.

Beauty Benefits: As face mask – binds to dirt and helps pull it out of your pores, making them less visible, cleaning the skin from impurities, blackheads, and acne, white underarms, as a deodorant. Due to its abrasive texture, it removes the accumulated plaque from the teeth and scourges the stains leaving your teeth white and shine.There are many products to buy out there containing Activated Charcoal, you can also, make face masks and teeth whitening powder by yourself combining this amazing ingredient with many others.These are my favorite beauty recipes; I like to use activated charcoal in powder form.

DIY ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FACE MASK FOR REMOVING BLACKHEADS

Simply apply activated carbon powder with honey on your face and leave it 20 minutes. I like to add a few drops of argan or almond oil as well.

DIY ACTIVATED CHARCOAL TEETH WHITENING POWDER

Mix activated charcoal, baking soda and some coconut oil in a small bowl. Brush your teeth with this paste and let it sit on your teeth for five minutes. Rinse your mouth with clean water.
